Women With A Vision, Inc (WWAV) is a community-based nonprofit that works to improve the lives of marginalized women, their families, and communities.
Women With A Vision aims to improve the lives of marginalized women, their families, and communities by addressing the social conditions that hinder their health and well-being. We accomplish this through relentless advocacy, health education, supportive services, and community-based participatory research.
WWAV envisions an environment in which there is no war against women's bodies, in which women have spaces to come together and share their stories, in which women are empowered to make decisions concerning their own bodies and lives, and in which women have the necessary support to realize their hopes, dreams, and full potential.Originally focused on health promotion and community outreach, WWAV has expanded their focus to include policy-level initiatives that negatively affect women and communities of color within Louisiana and elsewhere. WWAV has spearheaded the campaign to address Louisiana's Solicitation of a Crime Against Nature statute (LA RS 14:89), and
